Nightfall: darkness made visible

Judith Donoahue   Encaustic on Paper

The visible world changes when the sun goes down.  Colour disappears in the absence of light. The dark allows us to sleep and dream.

Rendered in the colour of a dark night, these monotypes attempt to capture on paper how darkness alters our perception of the environment, how imagination is activated when ordinary forms are unclear, and how residual feelings and images from dreams may populate our waking consciousness.
